Telford and Wrekin Lib Dems march for our A&E

Telford and Wrekin Liberal Democrats and Independent council colleague, Peter Scott (Newport North and West), are calling for all parties and both our local MPs to show unity in their condemnation of the recent Future Fit decision. This sees Telford lose it's A & E and the Women & Children's unit to Shrewsbury.

Group Leader Cllr Bill Tomlinson (Shawbirch) said "We are very unhappy that we are to lose these vital services and now call on all political groups and the MPs to join together as one voice. We must now ask the Secretary Of State, Matt Hancock, to intervene on behalf of the people of the borough. It is too big an issue for one faction. We will have a stronger voice if we all join forces together. This is not a time for political show boating from anyone"

Telford and Wrekin Council have called an emergency meeting on February 18th. Cllr Tomlinson added "Our group is fully behind any bid that keeps services at the PRH. Let's go forward in a united spirit of co operation!"
